2DNeuralVision Project Launches to Transform Computer Vision

News • 20 October 2023

We are delighted to announce the official kickoff of the 2DNeuralVision project, a groundbreaking initiative supported by the European Commission under the Research and Innovation Action (RIA) program. The project launch event took place on Monday, October 9, 2023, in Barcelona, Spain.

This innovative project represents a significant milestone in advancing computer vision technology. The 2DNeuralVision project aims to develop a low-power computer vision system designed to operate under adverse weather and low-light conditions. By using advanced 2D materials, such as quantum dots and optical neural networks, this system promises unparalleled power efficiency and computational capability. These advancements will result in reliable, affordable, energy-efficient, and compact computer vision systems with broad applications across key industries, including automotive, AR/VR, robotics, and mobile devices.

We are excited to collaborate with a global team of experts from ICFO (Spain), imec (Belgium), Universität Heidelberg (Germany), FI Group (Portugal), Black Semiconductor (Germany), and the Volkswagen Group (Germany), contributing to Europe´s autonomy in the semiconductor industry and supporting its technological leadership.
