DESCRIPTION

The SWIRFIRE project is an R&D initiative focused on developing an ultra-compact SWIR camera for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Designed to detect and identify fires, hotspots, and other critical features in low-visibility conditions, SWIRFIRE combines advanced photonic technologies with low-cost, ultra-compact CQD-SWIR image sensors to enable high-precision imaging and automated recognition in challenging environments.
The system integrates a cutting-edge optical system with innovative ROIC circuits, enhancing image quality, pixel resolution, and light efficiency. Additionally, AI-powered algorithms will enable real-time fire and hotspot identification, improving operational efficiency in applications such as surveillance, emergency response, and infrastructure protection—areas where traditional systems often fall short.
With strong potential in sectors like security, defense, and disaster response, SWIRFIRE is set to redefine remote monitoring and detection technologies, delivering superior performance in low-visibility and extreme environments.
